Day 24--Saturday, July 17--Talkeetna

Still at campground in Grand View--S did laundry this morning!!! Cannot believe that out here in tihe middle of nowhere, there is HIGH-SPEED dig wifi and full cell service. Interesting that not too many places we have been so far, that we have not been able to get some service.

Off to Talkeenta--have to backtrack down the "white knuckle" highway--maybe a good time for me to nap!

Mantanuska Glacier could be seen from camp.

Amazing vistas--just the vastness and this short trip makes me rethink wanting to drive to Alaska in the future.

Traveled through the Mat-su Valley through Palmer and Wasilla--did not see Sarah! And, we could not see Russia!

Talkeetna was busy with buses--Nagley's was one the first and only store in Talkeetna.

The Fairview Inn still has rooms and, of course, a bar--notice the sign in the window?

Main Street--one block long.

The old days, for sure. Snowmachines and four-wheelers are pretty standard methods of travel.
